Teacher Orientation

60 minutes

Two of the greatest results experienced by Bucketfilling Schools are the common, uplifting language and the frequency of kind and caring acts that immediately permeate.  Most schools expand on the Bucketfilling theme after our programs are complete; we see display cases, hallways and classrooms creatively decorated as reminders to choose bucket filling, not bucket dipping.  Teachers are the ones who keep this going, so the most important and usually first step is to speak to teachers.  We do so in a way similar to the classroom workshops, and the experience for teachers is an emotional and life-changing one.

“The Teacher Orientation was a very moving experience and will help the teachers promote the Bucketfillers For Life program in their classrooms.”

In-Service Day Presentation

2.5 hours

Happy teachers, happy and safe students and respectful relationships between teachers uplift the school atmosphere, of course.  But these things also impact academics. Through learning about the two types of Bucketfilling, lots of participant involvement and the use of a quiz and several self-reflection exercises, this is a seminar unlike any other.  The saying “Once you know, and you KNOW you know, there’s no going back” holds true here.  This opportunity to examine your life, to choose happiness and to learn how to handle stressful situations creates powerful and lasting results.

“I wanted to thank all of you for putting together a wonderful in-service for our teachers. Thank you for all that you have done for our schools.”

"Our bucketfilling assemblies and workshops have been some of the most impressionistic initiatives we have undertaken! Our students have learned how to articulate and share their feelings with others using positive communication, they know how they can make a difference in someone’s life every day with their words or actions, and they have openly shared what they’ve learned with their families and loved ones! We have received touching compliments and letters of thanks from parents about the “amazing conversations that occurred between their children following these assemblies”. Coupled with a positive school-wide behavior plan that we implemented last year, Bucketfilling has now become part of our school culture. We will continue to host workshops each year to maintain this positive energy in our school community."

"My 6th grader came home today and wrote the most beautiful examples of why he loves and respects his little brother. I’m not sure what kind of event you had at school today, January 28, 2009, but this truly is the most amazing experience we had at home in a long time. I just wanted to take a moment to say that it was great. My boys fight like siblings do, some days more than others. Today (my son) wrote about (his brother). (His brother) listened with tears in his eyes, sensitive to the fact that his big brother really does love him. I have to say that this is one of the most memorable events experienced at Crissman. Totally awesome! Thanks."

"We usually gauge the success of a presentation on the reaction of the faculty and students. The faculty has totally embraced the concept and will continue it throughout the year because of the effect it had on them personally. The students have reacted positively to filling each other’s bucket. We would recommend this presentation to you without any reservations."
